Background

Established in January 2020, CENTER FOR LEGAL AID SUPPORT SERVICES (CLASS), is a private, non-profit and public interest legal aid service provider.

Founded with the firm conviction that every individual deserves LEGAL AID SUPPORT, especially those who are unable to afford legal representation or the opportunity to appear in court before facing imprisonment. CLASS stands as a beacon of hope.  

It works in many areas of the law alone or in collaboration with other institutions (private or public). One of its numerous functions include equipping individuals with the necessary legal knowledge they need to understand the legal system and make informed choices. Therefore, CLASS invites all seekers of justice and legal knowledge to join its journey of discovery and enlightenment, empowering individuals to fight against injustice.

Our Firm approach is rooted in information dissemination and evidence-based interventions. Through our efforts, we hope to give people the justice they deserved and seek to empower individuals to make informed choices, rooted in Public Legal education.

To create a society where everyone’s rights are guaranteed under the law, given access to justice has equal opportunity and protection of the law, and is not subjected to discrimination based on their gender, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or social status

MISSION STATEMENT

Promoting access to justice through knowledge acquisition and legal aid for victims of human trafficking, child labor, forced labor, person accused, pretrial detainees and indigent person whose legal and human rights are abused, violated and denied while managing conflict & building peace.

Veteran Liberian Human Rights lawyer, Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe has underscored the significance of Legal Aid in the country.

The Center for Legal Aid Support Services (CLASS) conducted a two days Consultation Workshop with Media Institutions and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on Legislative engagement on law-making process.

The Consultation Workshop was part of a process to mobilize experiences, expertise, influences from National actors like Media Practitioners and the Civil Society Organizations.
